Actually, we went to the zoo this past weekend--the Topeka Zoo, as we traveled through our state capitol to our concert near Holton, KS at the Prairie Lake Pickin' Festival. It was a fun day...but very windy!
A lot of the animals at the zoo were taking an afternoon Siesta, but we managed to see a few of them. We spotted these cute turtles on a log, along with a mountain lion, a tiger, a gorilla and a bunch of orangutans, but no bears (only its paws).
Afterwards, we had a picnic in the park and would have rode the train if we would have had more time.
But we needed to get on the road to get to Prairie Lake. Small but quite pretty. It was incredibly windy here, but thankfully, they had a band shelter and good mics.
Thanks to everyone who came to hear our set. And thanks to the KS Prairie Picker's for inviting us to join you!
Next up, we'll be in Pittsburg, KS for the 26th Annual Antique Gas Engine and Tractor Show. We'll perform from 6:30 - 8:30 PM, with homemade ice-cream served an hour before the show. Concessions will be served. There is a $4 gate entrance fee to the event. Learn more HERE.
